Great site for both giving and volunteering. The founding organizations are a Who's Who of big tech business. A good place to start your search for giving.

Kevin Bacon's site provides a wonderful way to pull social networking into the giving equation. You can see different charities your favorite celebs support and you can add your own, as well. You will also notice that their volunteer and donation engine is Network For Good.
JustGive.org
In addition to volunteer and giving ideas, this site offers some unique approaches to giving, like wedding registry and gift certificates. Worth a look.
